Fraxion

Modernizing enterprise procurement software to reduce friction and improve clarity for finance teams.

Fraxion brought me in as their procurement platform began to feel dated and increasingly difficult for users to navigate. While the underlying functionality was strong, the experience had grown dense and inconsistent over time.

As the product expanded and new features were added, dashboards became overloaded, approval workflows were confusing, and UI patterns lacked cohesion. The company needed modernization — both visually and structurally — to support continued growth.

Role & Ownership

I led UX strategy and experience direction for the redesign while collaborating closely with an additional designer and the executive team. I was responsible for workflow restructuring, information hierarchy, interaction patterns, and overall visual direction.

Working directly with the CEO and engineering team, I helped define how the system should function end-to-end rather than simply refreshing screens. My focus was on reducing cognitive overload and improving clarity across core procurement workflows.

The Real Problem

The platform had evolved incrementally over time, resulting in:

  • Overloaded dashboards

  • Dense data presentation

  • Confusing approval flows

  • Inconsistent UI patterns

  • High cognitive load for finance users

Users struggled to quickly understand what required action, what was pending approval, and how to move efficiently through requests. For software managing financial controls and spend oversight, that friction was costly.

What Changed / Outcome

I helped restructure core workflows into clearer, step-based interactions that made approvals and submissions easier to navigate. Dashboards were simplified with stronger hierarchy so users could quickly see business metrics, open requests, and required actions.

New experiences were introduced to streamline how users submitted, managed, and approved procurement requests. Enhancements also supported invoice data extraction and payment workflows, improving operational efficiency across the lifecycle.

A modernized visual system and component framework replaced fragmented UI patterns with consistent, scalable standards.

The result:

  • Faster task completion

  • Fewer approval errors

  • Improved clarity and adoption

  • A more credible, enterprise-ready product experience

The redesign positioned Fraxion to scale new features on top of a stronger UX foundation.
