Echovate‍ ‍

Turning behavioral assessment data into a practical platform for recruiting, interviewing, and employee development.

Echovate used research-backed assessments to help people understand their strengths, working styles, and opportunities for growth. The experience began with more than 60 questions, which needed to feel approachable rather than clinical or exhausting. After completing the assessment, individuals received a visual profile explaining their defining traits and how they compared across different behavioral dimensions.

The larger product opportunity was on the employer side. EchoVate needed to transform its assessment data into something companies across different industries could use when hiring and developing people. I designed a connected SaaS experience that helped employers review candidates, understand potential fit, prepare for interviews, support coaching, and manage continued development.

Scope

Role & Ownership

I led the product strategy and UX/UI design in direct collaboration with Echovate’s CEO.

This was a focused engagement without a product manager, established design framework, detailed requirements, or backlog of user stories. We moved directly into high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes, with me helping define what the product needed to include and how its capabilities should work together.

EchoVate’s internal team provided the scientific questions, traits, and underlying assessment content. I was responsible for translating that material into an approachable user experience—including its presentation, interaction patterns, visual language, iconography, and supporting illustrations.

My work covered the assessment flow, personal results experience, employer dashboard, recruiting workflows, candidate profiles, interview guidance, coaching tools, notes and attachments, company administration, and learning academy across desktop and mobile.

The Real Problem

Echovate had valuable assessment research and employer customers ready to use it, but it needed a complete product system around that foundation.

For individuals, the challenge was presenting more than 60 questions without making the assessment feel overwhelming. The results then needed to become an understandable portrait of the person rather than a dense report filled with psychological data.

For employers, assessment results alone were not enough. Recruiters and managers needed to understand what those results meant when evaluating a candidate, preparing for an interview, coaching an employee, or supporting a team.

The product therefore needed to connect two distinct experiences: personal discovery for the individual and practical decision support for the employer.

What Changed / Outcome

I transformed Echovate’s assessment content into a connected, launch-ready product experience.

Candidates could complete an approachable visual assessment and receive a profile describing their strengths and behavioral traits. Employers could review and filter recruits, evaluate candidate and framework matches, explore individual traits, and use trait-specific questions to guide interviews.

The system extended beyond candidate evaluation into coaching, notes, document attachments, company management, and a learning academy containing recruiting, onboarding, and professional-development content.

The product launched and reached real employer customers. Instead of presenting assessment results in isolation, EchoVate could offer companies a cohesive SaaS platform that applied its research throughout the employee journey—from assessment and recruiting through interviewing, coaching, and growth.
